Opening Address

Dear Friends,

It is my proud privilege to welcome you to this issue of India Law Journal. India has become an important player in the international corporate world today. With increasing globalization, Indian corporates cannot afford to miss opportunities across many sectors ranging from real estate to aviation, among others, to establish an international footprint. Corporate counsels are responsible for ensuring that these opportunities are managed effectively and efficiently.

It will be the endeavour of India Law Journal, to update all its readers, periodically, on legal developments on issues focusing across various areas ranging from M&A to IP, cross border litigation and retail.

There will be a relentless effort to make this a source of information to international and Indian based law firms, corporate houses and law students as they adapt to taking cognizance of India‘s growing position in this new era of liberalization and globalization.

I wish to express my sincere thanks to all those who have extended their unflinching support for the launch of India Law Journal, particularly our esteemed Board of Editors. I would request the readers of this issue to send their feedback and suggestions in order to make this journal more purposeful. I hope you enjoy reading this issue.
